Why have just one dimension when you could have three? It's a film question of the ages, and while the popularity of 3D movies has waxed and waned over the decades, it seems to be making a significant come back now that it's done digitally.
Last month Marcus Theaters showed "Beowulf" in digital 3D for one night at the Ridge Cinema, 5200 S. Moorland Rd. in New Berlin, and has now decided to do it again, this time with the "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert."
They've extended the run, too. It plays for a week, Feb. 1-7, at the Point Cinema in Madison and again at the Ridge Cinema in New Berlin.
"With the overwhelming popularity of the already sold-out Hannah Montana concert, we decided to give moviegoers the option of watching the performance on the big screen in digital 3D with dynamic visuals and sounds," said Bruce J. Olson, president of Marcus Theatres.
"This one-week-only special event is being shown exclusively in theatres equipped with digital 3D technology, and we are excited to offer our guests a front row seat to the hottest show in town," added Olson.
