Sunday Sound-off: Will you quit smoking?

Published July 4, 2010 at 4:01 p.m.

Starting tomorrow, it will be illegal to smoke in Wisconsin bars and restaurants.

Today, July 4, is Independence Day; the date on which we Americans celebrate our freedom and liberty.

Tomorrow, July 5, is the day Wisconsin's statewide smoking ban kicks in. Some are claiming a loss of freedom while others look forward to the opportunity to enjoy a smoke-free night out.

Supporters of the ban say that this will help smokers kick the habit but those on both sides have evidence to support their claims.

A lot of stories have been written on the ban, with a flood of Talkbacks pouring in from supporters and opponents.

This week's forum question, however, doesn't deal with the ban, itself, but instead, whether or not smokers plan to use the ban as an opportunity to try and quit.

So, sound off, smokers: do you have plans to try and put the butts out because of the smoking ban?
