I only have two qualifications for my annual Halloween costume: that it involves a mustache and that it's ridiculous. In the past, that's meant dressing up as Gallagher, a motorcycle cop, a mulleted NASCAR fan and even Rocky Roccoco (albeit in fourth grade).
Little did I know that five months later, I'd still be reaping rewards for my portrayal of Borat last Oct. 31.
The first and most substantial prize came on Halloween, itself, when I won "best costume" at the County Clare. That award earned me a full barrel of Guinness and a private party at the Irish pub.
Now, as the "Borat" DVD is released, I win again. This time because a promotions agency in Chicago saw my costume on the "In Click" section of OnMadison.com.
That's a-very niiiice!
They even e-mailed me and asked if I'd like some promotional stuff.
I liiiiike! High five!
The package arrived Monday morning. In it contained three DVDs, three fake mustaches, two very tasteless t-shirts, and my favorite part: the one-piece green "mankini" thong that Borat wore to the beach (yes, I tried it on at home that night, and no, it wasn't particularly flattering).
Sexy-time ... not!
So thanks, Lisa Burgess of Allied Advertising for the free stuff (but no, I won't wear the mankini out this weekend as you suggested). I will, however, wholeheartedly recommend you, dear reader, go out and rent this hilarious DVD. Just in case you live in a hole and haven't heard about "Borat," it's one of the funniest movies of the decade -- and well worth the rental.
